I painted this while listening to the Presto movement of a Mendelssohn string quartet in A minor. This movement has a lot of tension that is dominated by the cello's undercurrents, which are represented in the red area in the center of the painting. The violins are seen in the yellow and cream colors. Always behind all the other colors were the chocolate shades of the viola. The colors were all stacked up on top of each other, and everything seemed to float in a circle toward the left.
