We'd packed a substantial picnic for our trek to Honolua Bay, but just as we arrived, the weather turned stormy. Despite the sun's best efforts to break through, the heavy rains continued, and we ended up eating our lunch in the car.
Everything looks different during the rain, especially from behind a wet windshield. The visual delineations between the rain forest, the ocean, the sun, and the sky slurred into a blur of color that reminded me of my old and much loved wooden palette.
